“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV)
“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.” (Isaiah 5:13–14, KJV)
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.” (Hosea 4:6–7,KJV)
“And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:10–11, KJV)
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV)

During the tenue of Chairman Hutchins and early in the the administration of the current Presiding Bishop C. E. Blake, it was requested of all Jurisdictional Prelates to hold an election of PAEC Chairman. My Bishop, Bishop W. H. Bonner returned from the 2009 Holy Convocation with that directive from the Presiding Bishop and acted on it and thus I was elected December, 2009 by the jurisdiction pastors and elders. Therefore the mandate to elect rather than appoint has been established by Chief Episcopate.
Thank You for that information. I was aware it was supposed to be but hadn’t been able to nail down the time. I went back and looked at the November 2009 Minutes and I found what you were talking about.
God Bless You
Is the green and white Amendment book which seem to be effective from 1968-1990, still governing the COGIC today? If so, how can I get a copy?
Part I of the Green and White book is essentially the Official Manual (Black Book) which was last updated in 1972. Part II contains proposed amendments that were passed but not certified. Part III contains resolutions passed up to that time (approx 1982). I don’t think it is available for sale unless the COGIC Bookstore has them, however, feel free to download it from this site. Go to the tab titled “Library”, scroll down until you see the Green and White Book. You can download the complete book which is approx 83 pages or download the needed Parts I, II, or III. Part II is the part that has the most impact on the local congregation. And yes, with a few exceptions, it is still in effect. Contact us via email at admin@cogicjustice.net if we can be of assistance with this information.
